Destiny?

Is our life drawn out for us ahead of time or do we have control over where we end up? If you let go of trying to control every thing in your life, do you end up where you were suppose to all along? Or does every decision you make put you in a different place? I wonder if my life is predestined no matter what I do or can I create the life I want and deserve? Or am I living the life I was brought here to live? I just had a birthday and have been thinking a great deal about where I am in my life. Sometimes I feel like life should be more than it is, and other times I know I am just where I need to be. Sometimes I stress myself out wondering too much about it all. I know I just have to have faith in a higher power and believe the universe has had and continues to have a plan for me. I may not know exactly what it is, but I have to believe I have had a purpose here and will continue to have one until my journey here on Earth is over.

Phil, thanks for the link to my blog. You've hit on some universal questions -- universal to any and all who truly seek to understand spirituality on a tangible level. You may be exactly right: that the questions may never be answered, and that experience is an ebb and flow of belief and question. Even so, if Love is the ultimate goal -- then I think we're on the right track.

When we stop looking for answers, we realize we keep moving nonetheless. hold yourself back and the world will continue to groove with or without you. if you have never hurt, you have yet to live, know of blessings and love...of love. we never stop growing babe.

"Blue as the evening sky, blue as cranesbill flowers, blue as the lips of drowned men and the heart of a blaze burning with too hot a flame. Yes, sometimes it was hot in this world, too. Hot and cold, light and dark, terrible and beautiful, it was everything all at once. It wasn't true that you felt nothing in the land of Death. You felt and heard ... Peace. Was that the word?"

I've had the same feelings as you lately! I'll be praying that you find your purpose in life, or find a purpose to persue. It's funny, how God (or however you want to label your perception of a higher power)will suddenly steer us in a different direction then we had planned. You seem pretty determined to let go of that self control over life, and balance it out with the higher power. I, too, have been dealing with this, asking myself, "How much am I supposed to let go?". Letting go of that question will also help release stress!

Hi Phil,

Thank you for checking out my blog.

I believe that we all have a purpose in life. A reason for being here that transcends what we have and what we think we need.

Sometimes people are so focused on 'things' that we lose sight of the bigger picture. I believe I am here on earth to do more than just work 9-5 to pay taxes, bills and buy things.

I have the same dreams that I had when I was a teenager and as soon as I start to move away from my dreams and start playing the survival game the universe responds. I think that saying "I work all the hours God sends", is unfortunate.

I don't think our lives were designed for us, I believe we were giving the canvas, paint and brushes and we are supposed to design the life we want but most of us fail to do so.

Thank you.
